What is the PLAB test?
The Professional and Linguistic Assessments Board (PLAB) test is essential for medical graduates who wish to practice medicine in the United Kingdom. Administered by the General Medical Council (GMC), the PLAB test ensures that doctors from outside the UK possess the necessary skills and knowledge to work at the same level as UK medical graduates.
Recognizing the growing interest and need for PLAB / UKMLA test preparation among international medical graduates, Cardiff Medical Institute now offers a comprehensive PLAB test prep course. This course is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to pass both parts of the PLAB / UKMLA test successfully.
Medical graduates from Pakistan, need to pass the PLAB test to become registered with the GMC and work as doctors in the UK.
The PLAB test is divided into two parts:
PLAB 1: A written multiple-choice exam consisting of 180 questions over three hours. It covers a wide range of topics relevant to the foundation years of UK medical training.
PLAB 2: A practical Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) that tests clinical and communication skills through a series of scenarios.
Cardiff Med Institute introduces its innovative PLAB 1 / UKMLA preparation course to Pakistan, offering in-person sessions for the first time. This initiative, spearheaded by Cardiff MED Institute, is aimed at assisting Pakistani doctors in their professional growth by providing essential tools and expert guidance to help them excel in the PLAB exam and progress in their medical careers
You’ll need to pass both part 1 and 2 of the PLAB test if you’re required to take it to register with us.
